I believe this novel now ranks as my second favorite romance of all time. Jennifer Ashley’s debut novel won an award for best first published work and with good reason. The characters sparkle and delight, the plot ensares, and the sex is pure wicked sin. The gray-eyed, bespeckled heroine is a fresh change from the typical romance beauty. Set on the tossing Atlantic ocean in the post-revolutionary war era, the novel imaginatively weaves piracy, prison breaks, rescues, and political intrigues into a tale of deep passion and sensuality. I heartily recommend this book!
