WORTH CONSUMING!
It’s a wonderful showcase of of Neil Diamond’s singing ability and an affirmation of the acting talent of one of the world’s greatest stage and screen performers: Sir Laurence Olivier. The story doesn’t stray too far from the original 1927 version, except to replace Jess Robin’s mother with a mousey wife. It works well, and Lucie Arnaz turns in a solid performance as Jess’s new love interest. See it for the finale if nothing else. It will give you tears or chills or both.
