WORTH CONSUMING!

My boyfriend and I were done with watching House and wanted to find another show to spend hours losing time on. My best friend, who had at first suggested House to me so I trusted her opinion completely, was crazy over the Office Season 4 premiere and it intrigued me, so I decided to buy Seasons 1&2 as a gift for our two-year anniversary.

At first I was really unsure if I would like it but then after the Pilot the serie really took off so I enjoyed it whole-heartedly. My boyfriend loves it and laughs a lot too, so that’s always nice ;) All in all, the season 1 isn’t remarkable, plus it’s so short, but it’s a good start to a great show.

The major thing bugging me is the fact that since the season’s short, the DVD is in just a normal black case and it looks weird next to my other boxsets ;) It’s a stupid thing, I know, eh.

Good show - across the board...... — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

As a huge fan of the British version and the fabulous Mr. Brent played by Ricky Gervais, I was hesitant to try this retread. After all, “Coupling” – another favorite – was a huge failure in translation. After waffling for half a season, I found a night with nothing to do and gave the show a shot and instantly fell for this very differently done show. There are parralels, of course, but across the board both versions are just great shows. I listened to the commentary available in Season One and could appreciate that the Michael Scott character was able to set the tone for the other actors on the show (SC had one seen 30 minutes of the Brit version and knew he couldn’t watch anymore lest he be a bad imitation).

One thing that really surprised me was how many of the writers on the show are also actors. I now can’t wait to see Season 2 to find out why they morphed the characters as they did. Very worth watching if you have a few hours to spare.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I hope Season 2 is better. Season One doesn’t compare to the British version.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is the best sitcom to come around since Seinfeld. Usually the UK version of a show is much better but in this case I beg to differ. My favorite part about the series, besides the sexual tension between Jim and Pam, is that there is no laugh track. Withouth that track in the background I find myself laughing outloud much more than with any other shows.

I love it…best show on tv right now…promise!

WORTH CONSUMING!

I didn’t think this could be as amusing as the original. At first I was irritated by this US version, since it seemed to be mimicking the UK version scene for scene.
Thankfully, I was wrong. This one’s bloomed and become sublime in its own right.
