I love Sherlock Holmes books. Arthur Conan Doyle does such a great job of describing victorian London and also his characters as well. I first read his stories in high school when my class had to read Hounds of the Baskervilles. I thought it was going to be a hard read because it was a british story. Actually, it was an easy read and I totally liked the story. It made me seek out more of his writings.

Then around the 80’s and 90’s A&E came out with the Sherlock Holmes Mysteries series which also turned on more to his stories.

Great author. Great detective.

Better than I was expecting.
