Crank: High Voltage takes everything that made the first Crank movie exciting, if not exactly “great”, and multiplies it by itself. There is more violence, more action, more sex, more humour, more video-game-attention-deficit editing, and more more in Crank: High Voltage than in any other movie I’ve ever seen. Which made some parts truly abysmal and difficult to watch without rolling my eyes and groaning, but other parts mind-blowingly cool and/or hilarious. It has higher highs and lower lows than its predecessor, which makes it uneven, but not unwatchable. So yeah. It was pretty much what I wanted it to be: an action movie starring Jason Statham. You can’t really complain once you know what you’re getting in for.
