The first time I listened to Anniemal I was like, “Ugh, too pop-y.” Annie has that sweet little girl voice that makes me roll my eyes while feeling slightly embarrassed. However, subsequent listens have changed my mind about the music. I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something going on in these supremely catchy pop songs, something insidious and delightful. I’m hoping my infatuation will be very short-lived.
