Well, this was a glorious waste of time. Don’t buy it if you can help it-it’s just a YA rerun of Lord of the Rings, and shoddily done at that; the writing feels as if it were a second draft—abrupt and shallow. I’m still plowing ahead with “Fire Arrow” as it’s past the return date for the bookstore but I’m far from eager. If you’re going to try a Pattou, get “East” which is superior in every aspect.
