WORTH CONSUMING!

Great movie. I really didn’t know that much about Coco Chanel, I just saw it as some big haute couture name and nothing more. But after seeing this movie I realize that she did make a big contribution to women’s emancipation, both in the way she lived and in the (more practical and less frilly) clothes she made. Audrey Tautou is great, she has such expressive eyes. Very nice movie.

WORTH CONSUMING!

if you have to see one movie about Coco Chanel, this is the one – do me a favor and avoid that horribly crappy tv movie w/th Shirley MacLaine! loosely based on Edmonde Charles-Roux’s book, (“L’irrégulière”), the movie focuses on Chanel’s early life, first true love and climb to fame. Audrey Tautou truly holds everything together – her resemblance w/th Mademoiselle is striking – and i felt a bit sad we don’t get the chance to follow the character further on. after seeing the movie, i definitely want to know more about Chanel’s life.
