NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Supposedly a very good book – winner of the Giller prize and so on. Unfortunately, I found myself on page 112, not caring about the region or the main (so far) character, and more irritated than hooked by the way in which the book was written. I found myself looking for other things to do, rather than read. So I’m moving on.

WORTH CONSUMING!

An excellent book, set in the former British and German East Africa (now Kenya and Tanzania) during the years 1918 to 1988. The discovery of the diary of Alfred Corbin, a British colonial administrator, leads retired teacher Pius Fernandes to try to discover the truth of Corbin’s connection to a family of East Indian immigrants to Africa.
