Honestly, it took me a while to get into this, but once I did, I really liked it. Austen leaves a lot to the imagination (tone of voice, etc.) but the savvy reader will pick up on it quickly. The love story, of course, was one of the best I’ve ever read.

I’m actually rather proud of myself for finishing the book before I went to see the movie. I truly enjoyed the book much more even though it occupied more of my time.

The movie left out some non-core characters, which was fine, but they also changed the settings of quite a few conversations. This influenced the mood and I preferred the environment and coincidental meetings as described in the book.
