WORTH CONSUMING!

What a beautiful book. The author said it best herself “Wasn’t that the point of the book? For women to realize, We are two people. Not that much separates us. Not nearly as much as I’d thought.

The story is set in Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960s and is told from the point of view of 2 black women and 1 white woman – all about race relations and family life. It was engrossing and compelling and real.

WORTH CONSUMING!

One of my favorite books of all time. I literally could not put it down.

WORTH CONSUMING!

The novel moves quickly, a little too quickly at times. To help slow the pace, there are subtle vignettes that allude to the atmosphere of feelings; these are delicate, thoughtful, and fine-tuned. I liked this book mostly because of the characters.
