Although I have not played many Final Fantasy games yet (only I, VIII, IX and now X), I rather enjoy the serie. I did prefer VIII, for various reasons, but this one was very interesting, I was happy to see all the parallels between I and IX. Some places were very annoying – Fossil Roo, brrr – and the music wasn’t very good, but I loved all the characters, especially Vivi! Anyway, it’s a good game and I recommend it highly to RPG fans!

I suppose many people are turned off by the somewhat whimsical graphics and story, but for me it’s far and away the best Final Fantasy I’ve played (which is only 1, 7, 9 and 10.)

I notice that, as of this writing, the lone “Not worth consuming” comes from a guy. This game does have a reputation as a “girl’s game” whatever that really means. I prefer a story with a little humor to all the death and drama of Final Fantasies 7 and 10. I still enjoyed those, but there is something rather nice about the simplicity of the story in this one.

Anyway, if you are trying to decide whether you might like it, if you have played and enjoyed “Radiata Stories”, “The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker,” or “Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles” I think you would like this one. If you like your RPGs to be dark and depressing, then you won’t like this one much at all.
