Ultra-realistic, well-directed and down-played — 45 weeks ago
Ultra-realistic take on the book by Roberto Saviano, this film displays the camorra, i.e. the current biggest crime syndicate in the world. The film shows different aspects on how big a grasp the camorra has on Italy, and in fact, Europe. One of the things that struck me about this film is that it down-plays the atrocities of the book. Astonishing to me, and yet I think loads of those facets will be deemed as dramatised by most people who see the film and have not read the book. Still, reading the book is definitely not obligatory. This is a very well-acted, well-directed and thought-out film that shows the downfall of an enormous criminal organisation that make the clothes we wear in so many ways.
