Occasionally funny bits but not up to SOUTH PARK par — 7 years ago
I watched this for the same reason most people probably do: I’m a South Park fan and I’ve liked Matt Parker and Trey Stone’s other stuff (TEAMAMERICA:WORLDPOLICE and ORGAZMO!). The musical is based on the true(?) story of Alferd Packer, a man accused of killing and eating fellow members of his gold prospecting party in the Colorado territory. There were a few truly inspired moments: having obviously Asian actors play Ute indians for instance, but the humor was often on the weak side and sometimes it was painfully obvious what was coming. If you’re a big South Park fan, it’s probably worth renting once, but I doubt you’ll feel compelled to own it.
