It is easy to forget how stupid we Americans can be when confronted with our own hypocrisy. At the height of the saber-rattling leading to the US entry to WWI, Woodrow Wilson was opposed to allowing American women to vote, yet in favor of “freeing Germany” for democracy. Is war and voting a “guy thing?” Ann Paul (played wonderfully well by Hillary Swank) didn’t think so. She got the big picture and dared to tell it like it is, even to her peers, a legion of “go slow” suffragetes. The result? Jail time! Now THAT is the american way. See this, by all means.
