Wow, this was definitely disturbing. I can’t say it would be a favorite film. There were a few lines that were interesting. Like, “you have to be unhappy to act”—or something along those lines before they started the “auditions.”
Torture and maiming aside, the connection between acting and relationships was worthwhile.

I watched this film without knowing anything about it beforehand… for the first half hour I thought it was going to turn out to be a romance drama. Boy, was I wrong. Holy god.
The film appears to be reasonably low-budget, and yet the effects are incredibly real and life-like. I was amazed.

The final scenes will stick with you forever. It’s a trump card for when you and your friends have that “this scene from this movie was the most f*cked up thing I’ve ever seen” converstaion. If you’ve seen audition, you will always win that contest.

I found this movie disturbing. It carried me along with an interesting story and a mysterious dark secret. Then when you finally find out what is going on, you are swept over the falls and it is too much. I was expecting something like the “Stuck in the middle with you” scene from Reservoir Dogs, but this was far to real, far to sad and far too gruesome.

I saw this at the Seattle International Film Festival, years ago. I must admit, I had to leave near the end – I couldn’t take it. For some reason, it creeped the bejeesus out of me, and that’s not normal for me. I love the snot scared out of me, but this went someplace I didn’t like. The movie, on the other hand, is excellent, despite how hardcore disturbing it is.

This movie is absolutely disgusting. I suppose thats why I loved it so damn much. Its so twisted and life-like. I couldn’t believe it. I watched it with my mother and she couldn’t even finish the film. That made me love it even more.
