WORTH CONSUMING!

I recently checked out Nancy Bush’s Folk Knitting in Estonia from the library. I have been thinking a lot about Estonian and Latvian mittens, and wanted to see what Nancy had to say on the topic. When I first flicked through the book I was terribly disappointed. I didn’t really see anything in there that I loved. However, on a second viewing I began to see things that showed distinct promise, particularly if I changed up the colors, and suddenly, I wanted to knit almost everything in the book. As well as beautiful Estonian mittens, there are also some glove (which I’m not so excited about) and sock (which show huge potential) patterns. I was hoping there would be some wonderful knee-high socks, but sadly I didn’t see anything that really spoke to me, but there are plenty of not-knee-high socks that look great.
