it is Ok...but that's it — 2 years ago

My boyfriend loved it.
I thought it was Ok. It seems a little far fetched that anyone would allow someone else to do that to them, but hey it is a movie.
Morgan Freeman excellent as always!
Oh & I do not approve of nudity in movies so that also was a turn off for me.
A word to all directors…you can make a movie without BOOBS in it…the world will still watch!!

good while watching it, glad it's over — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

At first, I thought it worth consuming. Then I thought more of how far-fetched it was. But it still worked most of the time with Danny finding a loving family in Sam and Victoria. With Bob Hoskins’ mobster Uncle Bart, Jet Li played the innocent dog brought up in an abusive home. Then with Morgan Freeman and Kerry Condon, Li became the adorable puppy.
I feel like I’ve just had a slurpee: it was good while it was going down, but I don’t feel that good about it moments after I’ve finished.

Not especially believable, and a little bit too schmaltzy. Also, not very deep. But, pretty and shot through with gorgeous colors and interesting cuts and angles. A fun ride.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Not a great movie, but better than I’d expected. The overall premise was interesting, if somewhat silly; I had the feeling that, implausible as it was, a bit more could have been done with it. Some parts were too easy and pat. Still it was pretty decent light entertainment with a little mystery and intrigue, some pretty good action, and a feel-good ending.
