I just don't get it — 1 year ago

I really don’t get why everybody is so psyched about these batman movies. I’ll readily admit I liked the first two. They had that beautifully strange Tim Burton vibe and they had the right level of tacky.

But especially these last batman movies I found utterly boring. Batman Begins with the whole was on wax off stuff. And that horrible scratchy batman voice. Brrr.

I watched The Dark Knight mostly for Heath Ledger’s Joker. And that did make this movie worth watching, because he portrayed a very intersting, reachable Joker.

WORTH CONSUMING!

My teenage sons both said this was the best movie they ever saw. Completely over the top performance by Heath Ledger, Just incredible effects with an almost scary realism and edginess from Christopher Nolan. Saw this originally in Imax and bought the Blue-Ray disk on sale. The special features on the Blue-Ray are ok, but not anything you couldn’t get on a regular DVD. The behind the scenes footage show how almost every effect in the movie was real, not CGI or miniatures. It just reinforced my opinion of how great this movie was.

As expected, awesome — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was exhausted when we started watching this movie, but it kept my heart racing and my butt on the edge of its seat throughout. It was by far the most horrific (or I guess dark) Batman I’ve seen although there wasn’t really any blood or guts. Heath Ledger’s performance is certainly NOT over-hyped at all. He was without a doubt the star. Despite its serious nature, there were a lot of laughs thrown in, which I really appreciate because I hate bummer movies.
