WORTH CONSUMING!

What an odd program this turned out to be! Anything promising a bit of weird draws my eye, and this was all that and more: Stargate’s Amanda Tapping affects an English accent to play the owner of a huge safehouse for ‘abnormals’. Abnormals? Anything and everything not quite human, or otherwise a bit monsterish, from mermaids to werewolves, telekinetics to small fuzzy creatures that are more destructive than you’d think! Along with her daughter, a handy in-house geek, and a recruited-at-start-of-series ex-police profiler, the group basically travel the world searching out abnormals, to either keep safe, or keep humanity saft from.

Doesn’t sound amazing, and it did take a while to get into the swing of things. However, once you learn Helen Magnus’ secret, and start meeting some rather familiar names, not to mention the evil Cabal – it does all rather get quite exciting.

Big mention needed for the ‘set’: it’s CGI! Very well done, too, imo: you can kind of see that some of it is, but it looks pretty cool for it (sort of like Knightmare, but 1000% better quality!), and then sometimes you’re just left wondering what’s real and what’s not :)
