A story about this — 2 years ago
Disney does more than animated epics. This is a feel good film that nicely twines together two seemingly unrelated plots. Stanley is a boy under a family curse. He ends up in a work camp for juveniles. Daily character-building is accomplished by digging holes. Signoury Weaver is the camp warden who wants to dig up the past in her own way, supported by John Voight as her derelict henchman.
There was lots of opportunity to leave some loose ends, but everything is neatly tied in a bow at the end. Ya gotta love Patricial Arquette in the role of a gunslinging cowgirl. She’s sure a cute one. If you like Disney, this one’s very Disney, including the “bad guys get punished and good guys live happily ever after” ending.
