I don’t think I was in the mood— I found myself annoyed as hell rather than amused and empathetic, and couldn’t keep watching.

How this movie ever gained itself a four-star rating, I can’t imagine. It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever seen, but would I consider it worth all the hype I’d always heard about it? No way.

Granted, half of what I didn’t like about it had to do more with the story itself than the way it was presented. Professor Higgins is such a jerk, and Eliza Doolittle is an idiot for letting him treat her the way he does. That alone is enough for me not to like it.

What’s more is that almost all of the songs were half-assed and terribly repetitive. How dull.

The one thing I did like: the “Show Me” song Eliza sings to Freddy in the street. That was the only scene I honestly enjoyed in the whole movie.
