WORTH CONSUMING!

Season 1 opens with the Cylons in hot pursuit of Battlestar Galactica and the fleet of humans who survived the War introduced in the preceding TV mini-series. Over the course of 13 episodes, there are acts of sabotage, a rebellion, the revelation of Cylon infiltrators that look human, the discovery of Kobol, a return to Caprica and an assasination attempt. Dr. Baltar’s fantasy Number Six adds sexual tension to throughout. All looks grim heading into Season 2.0.

WORTH CONSUMING!

As a child, I grew up on 70s reruns and 80s cheese-ball sci-fi. And that is what I assumed this new BSG was about. Until I saw it. With the all-too-early death of Joss Whedon’s Firefly, Sci-Fi fans have been left with little.

No longer. BSG’s season took us from the attacks on the 12 Colonies into deep space. But the focus was never about the “science fiction” of it all, but the people. Space just happened to be the back drop.

Well written, amazingly acted (especially from James “Baltar” Callis), and beautiful scored, BSG Season 1 saw what remains of a people forging forward to find a place… Called Earth.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I really enjoyed this series. There are a few things about some of the characters’ behavior that don’t make much sense, but otherwise I thought the plot lines were generally pretty engaging. It got a little weird toward the end but I am very much looking forward to watching season 2.
