I enjoyed this novel overall. The story line is a classic coming of age and self discovery, and so much more. The personal experiences expressed brought out true empathy from me although, I’ve never struggled with anything even similar to the authors mystery gender. I also appreciated the dynamic range of topics addressed from the time period, and from life in general.
