The Peach Orchard dream was like going back in time to when I was wearing kimonos and playing the biwa. Watching it was so familiar to me and yet so presently far away.

This film is not my favourite Kurosawa (be sure to watch Rhapsody In August), but it certainly fills the screen with beauty. My favourite dreams are the one about the tunnel and the last one, but they’re all amazing and emotionally wrenching. Definitely worth your time.
