Excellent read…

I read this book when it was first published, it was too raw too close to the bone because of the work I was doing at the time. I don’t know why I went back to it again.

With a fresh set of eyes, I laughed oh how I laughed, I nodded I hmmed. I ‘got it’. For anyone who has ever been touched by autism, ever wondered why? This is a wonderful book to dip your toe into in a non threatening way.

Written in an interesting, fresh and new perspective.

Found some parts (even of Christopher’s rationalisations) superbly amusing, although mostly, the read heightened my admiration for the sheer patience and courage (in the face of the-often-and relatively impatient mainstream society) of the parents of these kids who are deemed ‘different’ and often marginalised to the invisible edges of common society (as the lines have often been drawn).

Kudos to Mr Mark Haddon for the fresh perspective.
