Went through the night for 5 days to finish reading this. It’s really awesome and sad yet happy, and it’s so real because he openly deals with his pain and emotions. It really taught me more than I thought I would learn. Just go read it.
I really enjoyed this book. It was less intense than “A Million Little Pieces”, but in a good way. I read an article by Frey himself where he described his style of writing as “talking and music”, using rhythms, reading everything out loud before he writes it… I loved the sparseness of the pages: no quotation marks, far less commas and periods than proper grammar would require.

Not as hard hitting as “A Million Little Things,” probably because nothing prepares you for the rawness of Frey’s first memoir, but his sequel “My Friend Leonard” is well worth the read.
