WORTH CONSUMING!

Oh, the wonderful wonderful BBC version of Narnia. The amazing memories I have of watching this as a child. Sunday afternoons, sat in front of the fire with sandwiches and tea, crumpets and warm fruit cake, jumping with fright at Morgram’s transformation from supposed statue to snarling wolf, desperately wanting to stroke Aslan’s mane, being slightly in love with Richard Dempsey’s Peter. Oh, to be a child again in those wonderful days when Sunday afternoon telly was worth watching…

A three-sentence review — 3 years ago

I loved the book as a child and had heard good things about the film from friends, so I walked into the theatre with very high expectations. Sadly, I found that the movie didn’t capture the breathless magic and wonder of the book, though the costumes and scenery were neat. At times, I even found the story slow and felt a little bit bored, particularly with the seemingly endless battle scenes.

i loved the book more. :) I’m sure a lot of people would agree with me. :)

I love the Christian morals behind C.S. Lewis’ creation. It was magically written that NO MOVIE could ever capture. :)

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I don’t care that C.S. Lewis didn’t want a video version of this, but this is promoted by that same American lobbyist company that pushed Mel Gibson’s anti-jewish “The Passion Of The Christ”, and don’t get me started on the fact that the darker the skin is on the creatures in this film the more archaic they are…this is pap.

The only person in this film, who is able to act properly, is Tilda Swinton. Hurrah for her!

I’ve heard the books are a lot better, if for youths, and written in a very pro-Christian way.

Watch this... then read the book — 3 years ago

The movie was ok, but didn’t capture the magic of the book. You just can’t do character development in this short of a timespan.
