There’s a thin line between campy and just plain bad. At times “Woman on Top” nearly crosses the line, but I wouldn’t call it a bad movie. It has the occasional redeeming moment. If you have expectations you’ll probably be disappointed, but I wouldn’t go as far as to call it a bad movie. I’d recommend this if you’re looking for “fluff” that requires no thought to understand, maybe to watch while you’re cleaning.

Cheesy, improbable, stupid—and not in that good, fun, campy kind of way, either, but really, truly cheesy, improbable, and stupid in that unredeemed, “why did they ever pay good money to make such a stupid film?” kind of way. I have trouble believing Penelope Cruz in anything, but that was really true for this film. Why did I watch it? I was strapped in at 35,000 feet and my book was in my checked bag. Arrgh!
