Den asks: So how was the movie? — 3 years ago
Shawn says:
violent
Harley Jebens says:
It had a nice 70s sensibility to it, but about the time the sheriff started going crazy and the pimp started making with the wisecracks about the horny robots, I started to lose interest.
Harley Jebens says:
Oddly enough.
Shawn says:
it has it’s flaws, but it wasn’t the worst horror movie i’ve seen, by a longshot
Shawn says:
i liked the 70s vibe it had
den says:
so it was no ‘jeepers creepers’
Shawn says:
i liked the beginning and the end, the middle kind of wanders off
Harley Jebens says:
Not enough Banjo & Sullivan on the soundtrack, I’d say. I don’t think I heard a single refrain of “I’m home getting hammered while she’s out getting nailed.” Which is a shame, really.
Shawn says:
i liked that it was less formulaic than the majority of horror movies that are being made these days
Shawn says:
he was at least trying to do something a little different
den says:
so do you have to see ‘night of 1000 corpses” to know the plot?
Shawn says:
i haven’t seen that one. i plan on renting it now
den says:
harley?
den says:
you’ve seen that one, right?
Harley Jebens says:
Yep. 1000 Corpses was more over the top, I think, if I remember correctly. Or at least had a little more humor to it. It sets up the three main characters and the sheriff’s brother. But I think all you really need to know is “crazy hillbilly cannibals.” Okay. Check. “Lots of cops.” Got it. And we’re off …
Harley Jebens says:
Sorry if I’ve spoiled House of 1,000 Corpses for anyone. I was kind of sad there was a return visit to the Pussy Liqour and Beer store in Devil’s Rejects, though.
den says:
well with a name like that it’d be a shame not to get as much mileage as possible out of it.
Harley Jebens says:
That’s what I’m thinking.
