“Stripes” is a classic 80’s movie. My son has never seen it so while it is on TV this morning we are putting our plans for the day on hold, chilling out with the family and watching it together now while eating a big yummy breakfast together. All boys need to see this military movie—fun, funny, and PG-13 sexy. Discipline, duty, honor, and courage come in all forms… and Ladies? Never underestimate the power of a cute guy with a spatula.
Americana, folks; “Stripes” and the Cold War has become a part of the cultural collective experience. I have also come to believe that the characters in “Stripes” should be the poster children for the gifted child movement (LOL to us all equally afflicted with memories of our underappreciated folly from our exhuberant youth).
Happy 43 everybody! Watch a good movie this afternoon.

What fun is life without strolling down memory lane and having a wholeheartedly good laugh or two? Cheers to those gifted characters in “Stripes”. Any modern army could use a few more good men (and women) like you.
