WORTH CONSUMING!

I can’t believe I went so long without seeing this movie. I love movies based in history, therefore cannot hate movies with such great costume, casts, and music. Very long movie though, but worth every second of my time. Great story as well, you really come to love the characters, I almost shed a tear. I would definitely spend my money to purhase this film.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Really thought I’d hate this movie, refused to watch it for a long time, then my fiance got it when we couldn’t agree on a movie. It was AMAZING! So good!!! And exciting. This is one of those few movies that entertains like a book, if that makes any sense. I was completely engrossed.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Okay, Russell Crowe is always a pleasure, but this movie was just kind of “eh”. I’m on the fence about it. It gets you thinking about all of those huge ships and how amazing it is that they would arrive where they meant to, and safely—I mean, how is that possible!? B asked how they found their way and I said “HELLO, compass!” But truly, it’s amazing. I only had to watch through a blanket a few times. And of course the ending was fab. “The doctor? He died three months ago. I thought you knew that.” “SET A NEW COURSE!” (I’m ad-libbing, but you get the gist.)

WORTH CONSUMING!

Again, I am reviewing a movie, not a comic. But I felt that this movie needed to be added to my list.
M&C: The Far Side of the World is so much like an Episode of Star Trek (particularly The episode “Balance of Terror” and the battle scenes from Star Trek II), just without the advanced technology and aliens.
It’s a brillant movie, and being someone who loves to read books about ships and boats, this is a very accurate movie. Historically- not so much, but hey, ti’s a movie not a text book.
FUN FACT: Paul Bettany who play the Ships Doctor was also in A Beatiful Mind…both movie which also happen to star Russell Crowe. In Mind, Bettany plays a person that Crowe’s character has made up because of his mental illness. So it’s kinda fun to think “Hmm….I wonder if the doctr in M&C is made up too!”.
