WORTH CONSUMING!
From what I’ve read about this album, Clifford Brown with Strings has garnered mixed reviews since its release in 1955. Many jazz purists abhor the presence of a string section at all. I found the album mellow and understated. I happened to enjoy the unobtrusive string arrangements by Neal Hefti. Clifford Brown’s playing is perfect as always. The only thing I can honestly lament: the CD skipped on three tracks. Darn those library CDs!
