Christopher Tolkien has authorized an expansion of one of the most popular tales from the Silmarillion: The Children of Hurin. I applaud this having been done as I think it is to our benefit to have the various parts of this story in one place. Though put together in 2007, the great majority was written about 1917 ~ 18, so it does not suffer from the myriad of problems that plague modern best sellers. My only complaint is that though very good, the story is quite depressing.
