I wouldn’t risk self-diagnosis on this beastie. The viral type of tonsillitis, where gargling with warm water, salt, ginger tea, what have you? Perfectly all right. But what if it’s the bacterial kind that’s hit you? Soon as you’re sure you’re not getting better I highly recommend having yourself checked out by the nearest able medical practitioner and start on the antibiotics immediately. Otherwise it’s a week of hell: Not being able to eat, terrible pain in swallowing, your throat hurts all the time. Thick gooey saliva gumming up everywhere. Bad breath. Not being able to breathe at times. Some illnesses just annoy – this one is a sure character builder.

Seriously. At the first sign on tonsillitis, get on it and stomp it out of your system right quick.
