WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m a Jack’s smirking revenge….

Second time reading this. First time was in high school. Needed a refresher, I went on Halloween as a female version of Tyler Durden. Just as amazing as the first time. Love this book.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Had to read this for English 102. Not bad. I think the movie was better. I might want to read another book by the author sometime in the future.

Worth Consuming!

This is one of the very, very few books I’ve read that I preferred the movie to. It’s not that it wasn’t well written or entertaining, it just didn’t seem (to me) as able to deliver it’s message as effectively.

WORTH CONSUMING!

It certainly wasn’t my favorite of Chuck Palahniuk’s books, and I was slightly dissapointed, simply because it had been so hyped to me. Still, it’s worth reading, if only to know what all of the hype is about.

I haven’t seen the movie, though I still want to. Perhaps I missed out on this book somehow.

So, overall, this wasn’t the greatest, but it wasn’t the worst. There were some great lines, and a few thought-provoking segments; however, I also felt that most of the characters (especially Marla) didn’t have time to fully develope. I give it a 3/5.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Even with the now “oh so popular” movie out that probably everyone has seen, I think the book should be read as a companion to the movie. The books are always better!

You really get an idea of how crazy he is, and how Tyler does what he does and why in the book. These questions are not answered adequately in the movie, but we’re all too busy looking at Ed Norton’s arms, (well hello there!) Anyway.. I also read the version of the book with a new indroduction by Chuck, and it was just as entertaining. And most times I would recommend these as just being filler to the story.

It’s a short read, so a good one for you you non-reader’s to start on! And for everyone else it’s just simply entertaining!

This is one of the few books I’ve read where I think the movie was actually better than the book. Even then, I don’t think it’s so much that the movie was BETTER, but the book just works better as a movie. It plays out nicer. The book stayed right on par with the movie and only a few tiny events were changed.

If you don’t know the premise, fight club is about a guy who shall forever remain nameless. He can’t sleep at night, so he goes to support groups for diseases and problems he doesn’t have. He meets a woman named Marla Singer and they form a hate-hate relationship. Then the guy meets a man named Tyler and his entire life changes. He goes from a condo filled with IKEA furniture to a crack-house reject of a house.

He forms a club called Fight Club with Tyler. Men beat each other up and feel great about it afterwards. Woo.

It was a quick read and a poor book. I’d absolutely recommend renting the movie over wasting your time reading the book.
