Okay, I guess saying I consumed this is slightly misleading since although I have consumed this movie, I just now saw that this is a special edition DVD, and I consumed the video, which has a different cover picture, by the way, and I can’t be for sure if the DVD special edition is drastically different or not. I’m assuming it isn’t. Anyways, I was looking to rent a movie and saw this in a bin of bargain movies for sale. It looked totally cheesey, but it was only $1.50 and looked like it might be fun for a laugh, so I bought it and a couple more movies from the bin. The movie’s description said it was about a vampire who was addicted to drugs and thus craved the blood of addicts. I took it home and watched it with one of my best friends. The movie starts off with some guy who was VERY OBVIOUSLY READING his lines and it took forever before the actual murders kicked in and we kept asking, “Okay…..where is the vampire?” When the murders did kick in and the vampire did appear, it was quite bizzare. As you can tell from this cover and the descriptions on Amazon, this isn’t your regular vampire- he’s a turkey-man hybrid. We thought he was a chicken, but we were only half watching the video, plus at one point I know I saw a chicken on that video. At least, it looked like one to me. Anyways, the video we got made no mention of a turkey-man vampire, and the cover didn’t show one, so it was quite the plot twist, but this new cover and Amazon have taken that from you, but that’s okay since it wasn’t that wonderful a surprise anyways….well okay, it sort of was. I mean as cheesey and craptacular as the movie is, it wouldn’t have been as interesting or humerous if the vampire hadn’t been a turkey man. It would have just been blah. Anyways, it’s pretty pathetic, but my friend did laugh at the point were the man got his leg cut off because this man had just been in the act of attempting to do something rather bad…..and I’m not talking about selling drugs, either. Anyways, besides the turkey man, there is another twist in the film, which I actually didn’t see coming, but am sure some of you will. Anyways, when it was over my friend remarked that he had just spent an hour and 26 minutes of his life watching an anti-drug commercial. I would like to add that although there are some pretty weird drug commercials/videos (a friend in highschool reported being shown a video with talking carrots or some crap telling them not to do drugs, which if you’re seeing that stuff, you’re already stoned or mentally unwell), this is right up there with the weirdest of them, I will venture to say. All in all, good for a couple laughs, but not that great.
