NOT WORTH CONSUMING

My thoughts during this movie:
- I should get myself a cookie.
- This would be a whole lot more boring if Rhys Meyers wasn’t so nice to look at.
- Hmm, I’d like to visit the Tate Modern some day too.
- Hey, isn’t that Spud?
- Lucky SOB.

Overall mostly boring, the ending had some clever suspense (but with unnecessary hallucination/conscience scene).

WORTH CONSUMING!

I felt restless tonight and decided it was the right time to finally watch Match Point. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Thankfully, I had drunk enough wine to make me walk unsteadily. Otherwise, I would have been too stressed out by this movie. It was surprisingly good. I hate to admit to liking a Woody Allen film, but this is runner-up for me after The Mighty Aphrodite.

Engaging plot, good twist . . . — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I enjoyed this film – it was suspensful at times with beautiful scenery and music. The twist at the end was just an added bonus. Well done, Woody Allen.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Not your typical Woody Allen movie. I’ve come to expect little of him, so I was impressed by the pace, the plot and the overall production quality of this. The “twist” at the end was well executed (pardon the pun), although very out of character for the indecisive tennis pro turned kept man. Excellent performance by Scarlett Johansson as the Yank love interest.

Deliberate Film About Chance and Choices — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Match Point is a simple, beautifully shot film that intellectually examines chance and how that affects the choices that we make. While covering a lot of the same ground as Louis Malle’s Damage and Allen’s own Crimes and Misdemeanors, this time Allen has a more focused and concise story that is deliberately paced as one thing logically leads to another with an element of chance thrown in. I liked it on a intellectual level and admired the control as it unfolded.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I never finished it. I didnt return to netflix for 2 months. Thinking if I returned it I would be missing out.
Remind me to STOP taking recommendations from coworkers.
Terribly slow, and I gave even broken flowers a chance!
Bad bad bad.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I couldn’t believe that Woody Allen ripped off his own Crimes and Misdemeanors (which was a lot better than this)! Am I the only one who noticed that?!

No offense, Woody Allen, but this is one of the most boring movies I’ve seen in a long time. I didn’t even get to the end. It gave me tennis elbow, and a headache. Not even redeemed by the prettiness and blondness of Scarlett Johansson.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I loved the plot and the ending. You would never see it coming. Oh, and getting to see the familiar sights of London was another plus point ;)
