What can I say? I’m a sucker for a bit of time travel, medieval castles and some good old-fashioned sword play. _{and a bit of Gerry Butler, natch ;)}

It’s brain fluff, but I really enjoyed the book Timeline, so perhaps it helps that my brain is filling in some bits. ‘Cos the film does have more failings than great bits – just, too much going on, too much attention to what felt like background, with the lead characters’ lines bizarrely often happening half off-screen. But there’s a bit of fun to be had if you switch your brain off for a bit.

My biggest puzzle is a half-remembered scene in a water mill. In fact, forget half-remembered: I recall it quite well, with a duel and falling through the mill trap door into the river… it’s not here, so I suppose it must have been a different film and different actors. How odd – I was so convinced!
