Saloman is a criminal type, the very best counterfeiter in Europe. When he’s arrested in the early days of the Nazi Regime, he’s put in a camp, since he’s Jewish. But he and a few others of his ilk are put together in practically a resort camp, blocked off from other prisoners, fed well and given lots of entertainment – if they make fake pound notes and dollars for the Third Reich. The interplay between the men and their consciences is wonderful and heartfelt.
