WORTH CONSUMING!

I know a lot of people hate this movie, but I’d say give it a chance. You’re not going to laugh hysterically and some of the movie is downright creepy, but it has some depth.

I loved Thomas Haden Church’s portrayal of the black sheep adopted brother.

I wish someone else had been cast as the love interest than Sarah Jessica Parker though. She doesn’t work for me in this.

It’s a quiet, laidback kind of film where the characters are more important than the plot. But the plot does eventually get around to saying: just because you score well on tests doesn’t mean you’re going to have an easier time figuring things out than anyone else.

Favorite line: “You have the IQ of a dumbass ant.”

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Painfully. Dull. Great cast, terrible script, don’t waste your time – it’s a poor man’s The Squid and the Whale.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I really wanted to like this movie, but other than a scene or two it just wasn’t happening.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

The box said “lighthearted comedy.”

The movie involves a cast of people who seem seconds away from suicide, not to mention a really creepy incest scene.

Once again, selling a movie as something it’s not ends in nothing but disappointment.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I saw it at Blockbuster and although I hadn’t heard of it before I thought, “hey, Sarah Jessica Parker and Ellen Page (loved her in Juno!) – this could be good!”.

Alas, it was painfully boring and just . . . .

blah.
