I’ve only read this as opposed to following the full course so far – well, difficult to do a 12-week course in the 3 weeks allowed from a library borrowing! – but I do intend to pick up my own copy now I have read it. I was worried by the constant references to ‘God’ – but heck, I figure you can define the word as you see fit, and there’s more than enough useful advice even if you do just want to ignore those bits.

I have started doing a type of morning pages, and I’m working my way up to artist’s dates. The other exercises are pretty appealing, too – well, apart from the one where you’re not allowed to read for a week. Eeeeek!!

I’ve only given up temporarily. I am reading another book about writing right now, and want to focus on that one. Plus I just finished (FINALLY) reading “Fearless Creating” and want to process that one. I tend to pick up and read too many artist books at once, and then don’t do any of them fully.

I’m on Week 5 with my study group now. It’s been tough getting through these weeks, I have less and less motivation to read the chapters.

I am doing well with the morning pages, though.

Finished reading to the end of “Week 8” (p. 151). Need to get this from the library again to finish it.
