Supposedly, it is the best adaption of Raymond Carver’s stories for the film. Lots of complexity which is a normal extension of author’s litrature and shows the exquisite and unquestionable talent of the director. Very recommended for those who are interested in relationship between litrature and cinema.

I say ‘Worth it!’ just for the relationship between the characters played by Lily Tomlin and Tom Waits. Otherwise, I was maybe leaning towards ‘Wishy Washy,’ just because I’m not a big enough follower of anyone in the ensemble cast for that to be a significant drawcard. All in all, an engaging film. Better than average.

I’ve never seen so many victimized women in one movie.
