WORTH CONSUMING!

I liked this for the same reasons I liked the “Evil Dead” series – it’s completely ridiculous and cheesy and it knows that perfectly well. Let’s be honest – what more do you need than Elvis and JFK in a nursing home fighting off an evil mummy? I would have liked it better if Elvis waxed philosophic a bit less though. Entertaining nonetheless. The old black man who thought he was JFK completely made the movie for me.

WORTH CONSUMING!

“I’m thinking with sand here!” :)

If you haven’t seen it, add it to your list. Bruce Campbell, Ossie Davis…a couple of lesser-seen actors who are definitely worth watching. I can’t even explain. Elvis and JFK are alive, in a nursing home, fighting off a mummy. Intrigued yet?

It’s time to stop being so serious and just watch. It’s a movie, for goodness sake!

WORTH CONSUMING!

It’s a very unique film! It also has a underlying message about aging, but even taken on the surface it’s just great for a change of pace.

The first surprise was the screen saying it is rated “R”. Huh, isn’t this supposed to be a goofy comedy?
Well, it’s more a gentle-paced story of two seniors who shake off their very diminished existence for one last heroic stand. Bruce Campbell creates a sympathetic portrait of the King (or at least the man who would be). His Elvis is more substantial than about all the Presley movies combined.
