A weird watch, as I’ve read the book this is based on (the one actually called The Wire in the Blood) – but some time ago. I’m also reasonably sure I’ve seen the TV adaptation before, so cue a strange half-remembered swirl of bits that are there, and bits that aren’t or are changed/missing from the book.

Either way, this series remains one of my favourite crime/thriller adaptations.
