WORTH CONSUMING!

This is one of the better YA books that I’ve had the pleasure to read. It follows the story of a Victorian-era girl named Gemma Doyle, who has a vision of her mother dying seconds before it happens in reality. Forced to keep the cause of her mother’s death a secret to keep up appearances, she is taken to a Finishing school to learn how to be a proper young lady. There she meets three new friends. But the visions don’t stop, and she is warned by a mysterious boy that she needs to learn to control them… or else.

I don’t want to include anything else (as it might spoil the story) but this was an amazingly good book. It is very hard to put down after you begin it. The characters are nicely fleshed out, and you enjoy hearing about their adventures despite their (sometimes glaring) flaws. They all have a distinct personality—something that often seems to be lacking in YA books these days.

I would definitely recommend this.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I started reading this book a few weeks ago at 11:30 p.m. by 4:30 a.m. I had finished it. I tried putting it down two or three times so I could go to bed, but everytime I would pick it up again ten seconds later. It’s an amazing book. And now I’m anxious to get to the bookstore to buy Rebel Angels. I have to know what happens!!

Between when I started this book and the next night at 2 a.m., the only time I could put this book down was when I had to head to work. The rest of the time, I was so absorbed in this book that I had no idea how fast time was flying by. The characters and situations seemed to come alive to me the moment I picked up this book. There was real emotion in it all, and oh, how well I could empathize with what some of the characters were feeling at times. Very good book, definitly pick it up!
