Eerily reminiscent of Tom Holt’s Flying Dutch, but less frivolous. Similarly, a quirky story involving a dysfunctional Dutch sea-captain. As with FD, I am strangely drawn to said Dutch captain’s personality. I don’t find the philosophical messages particularly profound though.
