I started to watch this more than a year ago and had to pull myself away before the end (it was on the tube). I put it in the queue and finally watched the rest of it this week. Actually, I started again at the beginning and I’m glad I did. It helped me appreciate the pace of this film.

This is sentimental fare done perfectly. Somewhat quiet and a little dark, nothing much happens except a fulfilled life. I found Greer Garson particularly charming as the catalyst for Chips’ success. If you want action, this movie is not it. But if you want sentimentality, this movie is perfect.
