A very strange film, but then what were you expecting from the Coen brothers?

Alas, I think this lacks some of the charm of, say, The Big Lebowski or Oh, Brother, and certainly lacks a character to really ‘like’. In fact, the opening 15-20 minutes are pretty miserable, until the quirkiness and some laughs start creeping in. The whole thing is still more bizarre than anything, although there are a few moments of brilliant surreality or out-and-out laughs.

To be honest, I would have been a bit ‘meh’ about spending money to go see this, but since it was free (sort of!) then it was mildly entertaining, in that makes-absolutely-no-sense kind of a way.

A dark comedy.
Worth $10 at the theater, definitely.
