WORTH CONSUMING!

I enjoyed this film up until the end. They should have cut it off at the scene where he went to visit the Blue Fairy. The whole alien deal seemed far too random and not suitable for the movie.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

It started out OK. I was into it for the first hour. Once Jude Law came into the picture it went down hill fast. Haley Joel’s acting was fine, for what he had to work with. It got too out of the box for me.

I am surprised the Spielberg did something like this. I’m pretty open to all kinds of movies and I can give anything at least 3 out of 5 stars, but I can’t give that to this film. It is unfortunate.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

By some distance the worst “big” film I’ve ever seen. Truly terrible. I can’t believe Speilberg had anything to do with this feast of boredom. Maybe the idea and message weren’t so bad in hindsight but the plot and denouement were so bad it was criminal.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This will always be a movie about what could have been. The only thing we know after watching this movie is that Steven Spielberg can’t do a good Stanley Kubrick impersonation. He tried. He didn’t even attempt to put his mark on it. He just tried to be Kubrick.

I have a feeling that this would have been an amazing film if Kubrick had been able to direct it. Instead, it’s a great idea that’s executed poorly because Spielberg had no idea what he was doing. The end.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I’d already seen this when it came out, so we only watched it so Ross could understand why I think it’s such a crap-fest. I wasn’t even expecting to dislike it as much on second viewing as I did, but this film is truly nauseating. It fails to support any of the questions its asking, it’s self-contradictory, mawkish, and just plain idiotic in places. Even Jude Law doesn’t make up for its craptacular craptacularness.
